Looks like Sony has pissed off the church of England for its representation of Manchester cathedral in Resistance: Fall of Man. Check out the full story here.
Wow. I was unaware that they would need permission to reproduce that ediface in a videogame. Although I can understand taking offense to their cathedral being used in a game in a war setting, I think they are reading quite a bit more into it than it really is. This is typical of people, though. They get worked up and see things that aren’t really there. I didn’t even really think about it when I played through the game. I just had fun downing aliens. Hopefully, Sony sticks to the game and it remains unaltered for people. There wasn’t anything really defecating about it at all. Yes, there is fighting, but nothing obscene or anti-religious. Just a sci-fi setting. It could’ve been much worse. Had it been in say, a GTA game and they used it as a drug dealing, prostitution house, then I could see how they would seriously take offense.
