Boo. Hiss. Bungie is announcing troubles with XBox Live and online co-op for Halo 3. Gears of War did it and it totally rocked. If this is going to turn into Halo2 with new maps and new storyline, then I’ll kindly pass on the game. There have been innovations in gaming since Halo 2 came out, and I expect that Halo 3 should at least meet these let alone exceed and be innovative. Looks like it’s not going to happen in time for the launch. I tend to play the game itself first before I do the multiplayer online versus mode. I know that most other people want to get used to the game and practice on the AI enemies before they start fragging each other. At any rate, this is a huge disappointment for a series that I’ve always been a fan of.

Hey Cory, what innovations were you referring to? Just curios.
Artie, I was referring to online co-op (like Gears), cooperative missions (like R6Vegas), and a few others. I have no doubt that they will have new weapons, vehicles, maps, and enemies. I can’t believe that they didn’t invest more time in the online capabilities like they did in Halo 2. They blew the doors off the online gaming industry with Halo 2. I just don’t see that in Halo 3.
Oh man, that sounds like a real drag. i haven’t been following Halo 3 all that closely, but you’re right, it’s starting to look a little bleak where the online is concerned.
