I thought I would post some games that are Halloween/horror themed for the holiday. These are listed in no particular order and the list should not stop here. Add some of your favs and lets see how big of a list we can get.
1. Zombies Ate my Neighbors (SNES,Gen) – Awesome Coop action with a million stages
2. Ill Bleed (Dreamcast) – May this game rest in piece, it was flat out horrible!
3. Bioshock (360,PC) – Unbelievable atmosphere and story
4. Silent Hill Series (PS,PS2,Xbox) – This series definied the standard
5. Resident Evil Series (PS,Sat,PS2,GC,Wii….just about all systems even GB) – This is the one that truly started it all.
6. Monster Party (NES) – More wierd than scary
7. Undying (PC) – Story driven horror FPS written by Clive Barker
8. Shadowgate (PC,NES) – Adventure game that felt like an interactive movie at the time.
9. Castlevania Series (All systems) – Not really scary but plenty of Halloween creatures like that Shaft dude
10. Carnevil (Arc) – Gun shooter at the carnival, really wish this one hit home consoles ![]()
11. Splatterhouse Series (Arc,TG16,Gen) – One of the most gory games of all time, the arcade version rules
12. Mortal Kombat (Arc and everything else) – Not so much scary as infinitly bloody!
13. Super Ghouls and Ghost (SNES) – This is the best of the series, it’s difficulty will make your fingers bleed and begging for a game genie
14. Doom (PC) The first horror FPS for PC, at least for me and a classic to boot. This one is meant to be played with lights off and on nightmare!
15. Cold Fear (xbox,PS2) – Awesome sleeper, think RE on a russian ship.
16. Fatal Frame (PS2,Xbox) – Fight evil with your 35mm…lens
17. Onimusha (PS2,Xbox) – Fuedal Japanese zombies
I’ll play ball here! How about:
18. Phantasmagoria (PC) – Mystery/Horror game.
19. Seventh Hour (PC) – Yet another mystery/horror game.
20. Alone In The Dark Series (Multi) – Been around for a while. The new one looks promising.
21. The House of The Dead Series (Multi) – Great shooting game with terrible voice acting.
lol. i actually enjoyed illbleed… not the gameplay so much, because it moved at a snail’s pace, but some of the stuff that happened was really twisted.
Here’s two seriously creepy games that are both seriously underrated:
22. Eternal Darkness (GCN) If you haven’t already played it, this one is a true classic.
23. Killer 7 (GCN/PS2) A bizarre, spooky ode to doomsday and serial killers. While the game play itself is definitely fringe, the story and presentation ooze with blood lust.
