Ah…Duke Nukem Forever. Each time I hear that name, I shake my head. Any time I hear details on it, I shake my head. For those who don’t know, this game is part of a long series of PC games that started in the early 90′s. This one, in particular, though, has been in development for what feels like, well, forever…fitting title for this game, eh? Honestly, I remember when this game was supposed to use the first Quake graphics engine. That’s how long ago this project started.
Anyhow, the new teaser is up at GameTrailers. Normally, I might say, “Wow, they are actually doing it!” But after seeing trailers of this game in the past that looked like the game was basically done, and the fact that any excitement I may have had for the game died like 10 years ago, its hard to get amped about this one. Who knows…they may prove me wrong…and I wouldn’t mind if they did.
Lame. Absolutely nothing happened in that trailer. What was the point?
Yeah. The trailer was quite a snooze fest to me as well. They are supposed to release a newer one sometime showing gameplay. We’ll see.
Honestly, I think it would be funny if they called this game the 10yr anniversary edition or something…commemorating how long it took to make the damn thing.
Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time a Duke Nukem game was cool. There was one semi-cool one on the N64, but that was a third person affair.
The FPS genre has come along way since Duke was kicking ass and chewing bubblegum. This new game can’t be just a simple extension of the established Duke gameplay.
