In my opinion, it’s probably got something to do with the updates that came out recently. Just a hunch. M$ has been guilty of failing to test their software patches properly before they’re rolled out. My first experience with this was early in my IT career with Windows NT Service Pack 6. Anyhow, I came across this post from Engadget. Here’s also a site from Major Nelson who works for XBL I believe. Looks like most of our favorite games are impacted and there’s no talk of really what is wrong, how they’re going to resolve it, and so forth. Unfortunately people have vacation time around the end of the year to take off like any normal job. This happens to be the busiest time of year for gamers like us. It certainly would be nice to get my COD4 Ranking up and unlock some weapons and accessories. Oh well, back to Mario Galaxy.
What’s been wrong with XBox Live lately???

what exactly is wrong with xbox live?
Basically, logging into live seems to take forever…and usually doesn’t occur at all, leaving the dashboard empty except for the media and system blade. Live is all jacked up, and I noticed it happened right after the last update. It’s a real shame. Up until now Live has been awesome, then this last update screwed us all over. The only upside is knowing it isn’t just my system, and that it seems like it is one with the latest patch.
Like Cory said, oh well…back to Mario Galaxy.
oh man, that’s a bummer. it seems strange that no one at microsoft caught on to the issue before the patch was released.
that said, i’m sure it won’t be long before a fix is offered.
