Soul Calibur IV and…Starwars?

Yes, you read right. Yoda and Darth Vader have been officially announced at CES ’08 as characters in Soul Calibur IV. Why? I have no clue what-so-ever. Does it make sense? NO. It seems Namco has decided that Jedi and Sith should be in this game.

If we’re lucky, may be the game will include even more characters to alter the storyline thusly: Kilik finds his new master with Tony the Tiger (360)/Toucan Sam (PS3). Tony/Sam will teach him the ways of a balanced breakfast (free Soul Calibur IV stickers in each box of Kellogg’s cereal!). There is a problem, however, because a deadly assassin from the future has come to the past to claim Tony’s/Sam’s life. Robocop (360)/ Terminator (PS3) has come to kill the cereal master. Robocop has been altered by the evil OCP with a new prime directive to kill any cereal master. On the PS3 storyline, the future children have fought valiantly and won against the machines thanks to the delicious nourishment that Frosted Flakes brings. The Terminator is then sent to the past to eliminate the source of their downfall. The last master has changed as well. On 360, Scott Baio is “in charge” while on the PS3, Tony Danza will show you “who’s the boss”.

I guess it could be worse, but man why can’t we just have an honest to goodness Soul Calibur game without the crap? Just because I love both Star Wars and Soul Calibur doesn’t mean they go together. I also like ice cream and sushi, but you won’t see me mixing them together any time soon.
