In a shocking turn of events, Tomonobu Itagaki announced his resignation from Tecmo last night. According to Itagaki, Tecmo owed him a completion bonus for Dead or Alive 4. When the game was completed, no such bonus was awarded. When the president of Tecmo was approached by the sunglass styling guy, he was told that if he wants the money he should either just quit or sue them. He also went on to insult both Itagaki and his team. As a result, Itagaki quit Tecmo AND is suing them for damages for 148 million Yen. Ouch. Sad day for Team Ninja fans. Will the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series be the same without him? Hit the jump at Kotaku for Itagaki’s translated words on the whole thing. Well, at least we still have Ninja Gaiden II.
